Ok, I decided to start a "meetup"

Have any of you heard of used the website: "meetup.com"

It's a pretty cool way to meet ppl with similar interests, such as WLS.

I looked and there weren't any groups for WLS, yet, so I started my own!

It's going to met just an informal meeting for those who have had or want to have WLS, we will meet in Overland Park, at the library. First meeting we will just brainstorm about what we want the group to be.

I hope people can come and share ideas and be support for people.

I had a meet-up group about 5 years ago for scrapbooking.
They decided to start charging to be apart of it so i gave up the group.

I am in Wichita...how far away am I from you guys??

I am having my RNY in Jan.

yeah i went ahead and paid the $19, thought it might be worth it, but nobody joined and nobody signed up to come, so I'll try a couple more times I guess. 

 Wichita is about 3 hours from KC

Mine went very well, took me FOREVER to start losing, I'm nearly 3 weeks out and finally able to see a difference, I don't have a scale, but when I have weighed it has moved some, but my clothes are getting looser by the day!

It was mentally hard as well, I still WANT food, still struggle with trying NOT to put things in my mouth, and I'm REALLLY SICK of soft foods, I dont know what I want, but something different!  And I dont care if I ever see any SOUP again! yet after surgery that is all I wanted I couldnt' WAIT to try tsome soup!

Ok I think I missed part of this  E/M , waterfall99 were saying that you wanted to start a  meetup! I live in the Greater Kansas City area and wante to be able to meet others in this area that had been banded , can you pass me the information.

I basically just wanted to interact with others that had had WLS, I had the idea of meeting at the library, we could exchange information, ideas, recipes, tips, tricks, etc and take it from there.

 

But nobody has joined yet, may take some time.

That sounds great.  Unfortunately, I live too far away.  The Kansas boards are very slow so it might take a little bit to get the information out.  Good luck.
